Jasna Veljanovic-Rankovic
Jasna Veljanović-Ranković was born on January 13th 1980 in Fulda (Germany). She received her primary and secundary schooling (piano and theory) in Kragujevac (Serbia). She graduated from Ukranian National Music Academy P.I.Tschiakovsky  (Department of Composition) in 2003, in class of Gennady Lyashenko. Her graduated work Concerto for Piano and Orchestra was performed by Symphony Orchestra of the Ukranian Broadcasting Company. She took her master's degree (Department of Composition) in Faculty of Music in Belgrade (Serbia) in the class of Vlastimir Trajković with the composition titled Five Songs for Mezzosoprano and Orchestra on The Verses of Aleksander Block. After that she took her master's degree in Music Theory with the study The Tipology of Form in Scarlatti's Sonatas: Scarlatti's Sonata Form as Its Main Formal Pivot. Currently she is attending doctoral studies of Music Theory at Faculty of Music in Belgrade. Her work is concentrated on the form in keyboard music of 17th and 18th centuries.
She works at the Faculty of Philology and Arts (University of Kragujevac) at the Department of Music as an assistent professor.
Jasna Veljanović-Ranković composer's opus include works for solo instruments, chamber ensambles and symphony orchestra. Lately, her preoccupation are the specific chamber ensambles (Duel and Romance for Flute and Accordion, Interrupted Passacaglia for Flute, Oboe, Cello and Accordion, Restless Thoughts at Night for Flute, Oboe, Alto Saxophone and Cello, A Dream Within a Dream for Soprano and Flute, Variations Without a Theme for Solo Flute).
